The Challenge: Advertisers Search for Numbers Before They Spend
Agencies, ad tech vendors and marketing blogs publish about ad costs, benchmarks and platform changes every week, and every one of those articles needs a number. A paid advertising agency sits in the middle of that conversation but a service page is not something those writers cite.
The agency needed backlinks from marketers and publishers. The question was whether statistics and benchmark pages for the big ad platforms could become the reference those writers link to.
The brief: publish ad platform statistics and benchmark pages that marketers cite, then measure which pages earn links.
The Strategy: Platform Statistics, Benchmarks and Cost Pages
The set has 12 pages in three groups. Platform statistics cover Google Ads, Facebook Ads, TikTok Ads and Facebook users. Benchmark and cost pages cover Google Ads benchmarks, ROAS benchmarks, TikTok ads benchmarks and Bing Ads cost. Strategy and metric pages cover PPC, marketing efficiency ratio, ABM and Facebook ad strategies.
The rule going in: build the page a marketer opens when they need a benchmark for a client deck or a blog post.
The aim was never volume for its own sake. It was a reference page for each topic that a real writer would be glad to find.
Our digital PR service turns your ad platform data into stories and pitches them to the marketing and business publications your buyers read.
The Build: 12 Pages, Tracked One by One
We checked every page individually in Ahrefs Site Explorer using the Backlinks report with one link per domain, so each number counts a linking site once per page, however many times it links.

Where the Links Landed
Links did not spread evenly. The chart shows every page that earned at least one referring domain, and the table shows how concentrated they are.
| Measure | Result |
|---|---|
| Pages with 10 or more referring domains | 4 |
| Largest three pages | 153 of 184 (83%) |
| Largest five pages | 176 of 184 (96%) |
| Median linked page | 9 |
| Average linked page | 20.4 |
| Pages with no link | 3 |
Who Links to the Pages
The referring pages are agency posts, ad tech and analytics blogs, marketing guides and one major business publication. The highest-authority sites we found, by Ahrefs Domain Rating (DR):
| Referring site | DR | Links to |
|---|---|---|
| fastcompany.com | 92 | Facebook users statistics |
| monetag.com | 75 | Google Ads statistics |
| cropink.com | 75 | Facebook Ads statistics |
| seoprofy.com | 75 | Bing Ads cost |
| mentorcruise.com | 73 | Google Ads statistics |
| ringly.io | 72 | Google Ads benchmarks |
| colorwhistle.com | 71 | Facebook Ads statistics |
| comkeyconsulting.com.au | 62 | Google Ads statistics |
The rest of the profile is wider and weaker: small blogs, regional sites and low-DR pages. We report both ends.
Our SaaS SEO service pairs linkable data pages with product, comparison and feature pages, so the authority you earn from marketers reaches the pages buyers sign up from.

Three patterns stood out. We read them from the data and have not tested them in controlled experiments.
Platform-level statistics earned the most
Google Ads statistics (73) and Facebook Ads statistics (58) hold 131 of 184 domains. Writers link to the broad pages about the biggest ad platforms.
The linkers are marketers
Agency blogs, ad tech tools, analytics vendors and marketing publications make up the visible referrers, the people who need ad numbers for their own content.
Syndication multiplies domains
The Facebook users page lists 14 referring domains including a Fast Company piece and what looks like the same article on other sites. Domain counts can run ahead of distinct articles.
The Honest Caveats
We report what the data shows, including the parts a polished case study usually rounds away:
Copies and sister sites are included.
The Facebook users page includes what looks like one syndicated article carried on several sites, and one of the four domains on the ROAS page belongs to the same portfolio. Ahrefs counts each as a domain.
Concentrated, not even.
The top two pages hold 131 of 184 domains. The median linked page has 9, and three of 12 pages have none.
Links, not rankings or traffic.
This study measures referring domains in Ahrefs. It does not claim rankings, traffic or leads, and some links are nofollow.
We read the top referrers only.
Per page we read the six highest-traffic referring pages. The long tail behind the counts was not reviewed one by one.
One snapshot, one date.
Checked on 11 October 2026. Totals add up each page's referring domains, so a site that links to two pages counts twice.
